Se não fossem os poucos sinais de urbanidade;

eu me maravilhava com singela e bucólica terra,

que não deixa de vez as origens para ser cidade.

Só os escassos prédios e casas são mera

insinuação de prova de abandono rural!

If it were not for the few signs of urbanity;

i marveled at simple bucolic land,

which does not leave its origins to be a city.

Only the scarce buildings and houses are mere 

hints of proof of rural abandonment.

Mais a estrada que atravessa o meio

de toda a paisagem campestre com seus verdes

escuros, claros, acastanhados no solo de permeio...

As árvores espalhadas, sem ordem, grandes ou pequenas, como sebes;

umas sós, outras em fileira, outras muitas juntas, umas e outras misturadas

Plus the road, which runs through the middle

of the countryside with its greens

dark, light, brownish in the soil in between...

The scattered trees, without  order, large or small, as hedges;

some loners, others in a row, others very close together, and others mixed

 Árvores ladeiam casas e a estrada sinuosa que corre,

que estende a curva longamente

à distância que torna a orla campestre verdejante, que por instantes morre

mais longe no horizonte de repente;

para dar lugar à paisagem citadina:

Trees flank homes and the winding road that runs,

which extends the curve long

in the distance that makes the edge green contryside, which briefly dies

further the horizon suddenly;
